Prokofiev in Nancy

Within the three years right before the covid-crisis Aimery Lefèvre's career was substantially picking up speed: He made his debut with the Royal Opera House in London, was a regular guest - in no less than six opera productions - at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse and appeared at the opera houses in Avignon, Dijon, Montpellier and Tours.

The cursed virus unfortunately interrupted this run brutally. Let us hope that this new season will take the previous drive up again. The season opens with a production of Prokofiev’s Love For Three Oranges at the Opéra national de Lorraine, where Aimery will be performing the role of Pantalon.

From Lully to Leoncavallo

Having just concluded a concert-tour on the occasion of the CD-release of Lully’s opera Isis with Les Talens lyriques conducted by Christophe Rousset, Aimery Lefèvre is tackling the chronologically and stylistically extreme changeover to his role-debut as Silvio in Leoncavallo’s verismo-highlight I Pagliacci at the Saint-Etienne-Opera.

Performances on March 11, 13 and 15, 2020.

Also his next engagement sees him in another role-debut, this time as Pantalon in Prokofiev’s The Love to Three Oranges at the Opéra national de Lorraine.

Carmen at the Dijon Opera

Amazingly the Dijon Opera of all theatres offered the role of Moralès within the new-production of Carmen to Aimery Lefèvre which enables him also to prove his talents off the Baroque-repertory once again. Dijon, the birth-place of Jean-Philippe Rameau, whose music has been sung by our baritone frequently and very successfully! Among the productions that have highlighted his career apart from the Baroque-repertory the world-premiere of Les Pigeons d’argile by Philippe Hurel in Toulouse (available also in DVD), La Cenerentola (Dandini) at the Rouen Opera and Lakmé (Frédéric) at the Teatro municipal in Santiago de Chile need to be mentioned. Resuming a successful start of career

In the early age of 33 Aimery Lefèvre can already look back on ten years of a remarkable career having appeared in Il barbiere di Siviglia and in Platée at the Opéra de Paris already in 2009. Since having graduated from his vocal studies in Lyon, he also performed as a guest at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, the London Royal Opera House, the Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile and with the Glyndebourne Festival.

Like the career of numerous other young French singers, his way also started with the Baroque repertoire which fits perfectly well to both his youthful lyric voice and his fine musicality; the Théâtre du Capitole for example heard recently his Pollux in Castor et Pollux. However, his repertoire is by no means limited to the Baroque style, but meanwhile also includes roles such as Oreste (Iphigéníe en Tauride), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Frédéric (Lakmé), Valentin (Faust).

Aimery Lefèvre’s current commitment concerns a production of Gianni Schicchi (Marco) at the Théâtre du Capitole, his first approach to Puccini.

Back to the Capitole

Aimery Lefèvre is a regular guest at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse where he successfully joined two recent productions: Castor et Pollux (Pollux) as well as the world premiere of Philippe Hurel’s Les pigeons d’argile (Toni), a production which has been released on DVD meanwhile.

Aimery Lefèvre is back to the Capitole now taking over the role of Claudio in Berlioz Béatrice et Bénédict with Tito Ceccherini conducting and Richard Brunel staging.

Debut at Covent Garden

In spite of his young age Aimery Lefèvre (32) can already refer to an impressive career on international opera stage.

As many French singers he grew up with the baroque repertoire under the baton of conductors such as Emmanuelle Haïm (L’incoronazione di Poppea in Lille), William Christie (Hippolyte et Aricie at the Opéra de Paris and at the Glyndebourne Festival), Marc Minkowski (Platée at the Opéra de Paris) and Christophe Rousset (Castor et Pollux at the Théâtre du Capitole).

Soon he was offered the opportunity to expand his repertoire: He was acclaimed as Dandini in La Cenerentola (Rouen), Frédéric in Lakmé (Santiago de Chile), Dancaïre in Carmen (Luxemburg), Silvano in Un ballo in maschera (Toulouse) and in the world premiere of Philippe Hurel’s Les Pigeons d’argile (Toulouse), of which a DVD-recording is available.

Aimery Lefèvre is now making his debut with the London Royal Opera House in L’Etoile (Tapioca). Opening night on 1st February 2016.
