This morning we were delighted to receive the following press release:
The Opéra Grand Avignon is pleased to announce the appointment of Federico Santi as associate conductor of the Opéra Grand Avignon for three seasons from this one. This partnership confirms an artistic complicity that has already developed over previous years: at Opéra Grand Avignon, Federico Santi has conducted Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes in October 2021, Howard Moody's Les Rêveurs de la Lune in January 2023, and Giacomo Puccini's Tosca in April 2024. He opens the FEMMES! 24-25 season with Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, and will return to conduct an opera production in each of the next two seasons.
„His precise and sensitive approach to each of the works, his openness to different repertoires, his humble attitude towards the works and his collaborators, as well as his leadership of the orchestra and the cast of singers are exceptional qualities to which I wish to pay tribute with this appointment“. Frédéric Roels, Director of Opéra Grand Avignon.
Thank you to the Opéra Grand Avignon for its enthusiasm and loyalty, and bravissimo Maestro!
