A brand new recipient of the Gelsenkirchener Theaterpreis 2024, awarded by the Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen for outstanding performances at the Musiktheater im Revier (MiR), where she has been a soloist since 2023/24, Margot Genet's first season there saw her take on roles such as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Norina (Don Pasquale) and Amelia (Bernarda Albas Haus by Aribert Reimann). An equally busy new season awaits her in Gelsenkirchen, with no less than five new roles: Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Musetta in La Bohème, Nannetta in Falstaff, Carmina Burana as well as Stella (the bride) in Innocence, the eagerly-awaited German premiere of Kaija Saariaho's last opera.
