As Konstanze in Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio, the German coloratura-soprano Cornelia Götz gives her debut at the Opéra de Montpellier.
With almost 800 performances as Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Cornelia Götz seems to be record holder concerning this role. The soprano is even happier when balancing her repertoire with another role, for example Mozart's Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio. Having sung the opening night of the new production, she made her debut at the opéra de Montpellier on February 1st, 2013. Alfredo Arias, the figure head of the latin-american theatre directed the production, the Hungarian conductor Balázs Kocsár had the musical lead.
