Debut at the Hamburg State Opera

Only few singers succeed in having such wide and versatile repertoire at their disposal as French soprano Marion Tassou. Her operatic parts extend from the baroque period up to contemporary music. Within the last few years she has performed roles such as Vénus in Destouches’ Le Carnaval et la Folie, Ilia (Idomeneo), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Blanche de La Force (Dialogues des Carmélites), Pauline (La Vie Parisienne) and Mahenu in Reynaldo Hahn’s L’île du Rêve. However, she also sang frequently Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire and took part in the world-premieres of operas by Dominique Pauwels (L'Autre hiver), Vasco Mendonça (Beach Bosch) and Marc-Olivier Dupin (Le mystère de l'écureuil bleu).

Marion Tassou is now making her debut with the Hamburg State Opera, one of Germany’s leading opera-companies. She will be performing the role of Melanto in Willy Decker’s staging of Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria by Monteverdi. Opening-night on October 29, 2017.
