Julien Behr’s new season is starting with a world-premiere at the Opéra de Paris. He had already enthusiastically joined the world-premiere of Quai Ouest by Régis Campo (based on Bernard-Marie Koltès’ drama with the same title) at the Opéra National du Rhin in 2014. The present production is concerning the world-premiere of Bérénice by Michael Jarrell (after Jean Racine’s tragedy) at the Opéra de Paris.
One will keep the following productions of our Mozart-tenor as his greatest successes within last season in mind: Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio) both at the Opéra national de Lorraine in co-production with the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg and at the Opéra de Lyon as well as by his role debuts as Fenton (Falstaff) at the Vlaamse Opera and as Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Opéra de Bordeaux.
Opening-night of Bérénice at the Opéra de Paris – Palais Garnier (conductor: Philippe Jordan, stage director: Claus Guth) on September 29, 2018.
