During the last weeks Elsa Dreisig was shining at the Zurich Opera when making her overwhelming debut with the very difficult and demanding role of Manon (Massenet). Among many excellent reviews one could find the following one which expresses exquisite enthusiasm:
“This role-debut cannot be reported with the common verbiage “successful” only. Elsa Dreisig - not yet 30 years old – as Manon was downright sensational, outstanding and superior - simply to kneel down. Her vocal and musical interpretation of captivating easiness, commands over a wide range of dynamic facets with a timbre which is neither too bright nor too dark. Crystal clear is her vocal line, intonation and intervallic leaps. Thanks to her French-Danish parentage her phrasing is stupendously natural. Moreover her compliance in performing the young Manon Lescaut as a stage-character gives proof of the artist Elsa Dreisig’s enormous maturity and touching empathy“. Elsa Dreisig is now Zerlina within a new-production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Paris Opera (Palais Garnier). Conductor is Philippe Jordan, stage-director Ivo van Hove. Opening-night on June 11, 2019.
